The Legend of the Fairy Stones Scrap Happy Art Party
March 22 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm EDT
Kelly Anne White, the author of The Legend of the Fairy Stones, invites fairytale and art enthusiasts of all ages for an afternoon of “scrap-happy” collage projects. Choose from feathers, fairy dust, sparkle pens, sparkly gems, candy-colored ribbon, and other goodies to embellish classical storybook artworks.
The Legend of the Fairy Stones shares the woodland folktale of fairy tears turning to crystal crosses—real cross-shaped stones known as staurolite, affectionately nicknamed “fairy stones.” Written and designed by Kelly Anne White, the picture book retells the charming lore in originally authored lyrical verse blended with nearly 200 images digitally collaged from an astounding mixed bag of art the author curated from the public domain. The Legend of the Fairy Stones was recently honored with a Purple Dragonfly Book Award for Best Interior Design. The Legend of the Fairy Stones released worldwide last year from Morgan James Publishing, named by Publishers Weekly as one of the fastest-growing independent publishers.
Kelly Anne White is author of The Legend of the Fairy Stones, The Bible Adventure Book of Scavenger Hunts, and other books for kids.
